In case it helps anybody, find here an open access scientific article about the analysis of short-term residential electrification with electric water tanks in Spain. It includes a comparison of the potential savings from switching an instantaneous gas boiler for hot water production by electric water heaters. The calculations are made using real prices, and contain different configurations of hot water needs, tank size, and power!
